I had bought this item back in 2021 along with one for my living room chair. I purchased it because I bought new living room couch and chair and didn't want my two cats scratching at them with their claws. Over the past 2 years, they have held up very well. However, they have started to tear and my cats are now able to get through the plastic with their claws. My feeling is, they have worked well for the two years and didn't find them to be that expensive when I originally bought them. Today, I have purchased replacements. If you are looking to buy these, I highly recommend buy two each for the extra protection.

The perfect thick, durable couch cover.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I recently got a new couch for my front living room which is occupied by my cat. My husband is allergic to cats and since she's old and I don't want to keep buying new sofas, I figured a plastic cover would work well to keep her hair completely off of it and any little throw up incidents she may have. She spends A LOT of time on the couch and if she hacks up a hairball it's usually on her blanket. Once she passes on, I'll still essentially have a new sofa that my husband will be able to sit on- eventually. She doesn't mind the plastic. We have it on our dining chairs as well (same reason). The plastic is fairly thick. It's fits my new 88" sofa fine. The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because of the big off-gassing smell it has. It's quite strong and dominates the room. I'm hoping it fades or perhaps I need to wipe down the plastic with something to help alleviate the strong smell. Plastic covering your furniture was all the rage back in the day and I'm all about bringing it back!

These are great. I wish I had found them years ago. Keeps sofa protected. Strong plastic. Easy to clean. Cats have not been able to break. Great buy for pet owners. Update: It's been 6 months, no rips or tears. My cats have not made holes in them. It is 100% waterproof. I have an elderly cat that will pee on the couch. No liquid has gone through to the couch. I just use the mop to clean the pee & good as new. These covers are fantastic. I always keep my cats nails trimmed to avoid damage to furniture, bed sheets, & curtains. Keep your cats nails trimmed & you won't have any issues.

Ripped very easily and didnt stay on the sofa very well

I was so hopeful. When I initially unpackaged it . The quality was great. But it’s been a week and I have a rip . 😔 gonna keep using it until I can’t anymore I guess

Fit my couch well, it looked like it was too big, however that makes it easier to sit on without tearing it. It is very durable plastic. I am using it under a regular couch cover to protect my custom upholstered couch from my cats. My cats hate it, so it's doing it's job very well 😆 it makes noise under my regular couch cover but it does not change how comfortable my couch is for humans to sit on. I am beyond thrilled my couch is protected from my 🐈 😻
