Working great so far and yielding 0 ppm. Connected to the output of an RO system. Had it for several weeks and I see little or no color change. But I haven't tried replacing the resin yet. Didn't come with fittings which is annoying, but fortunately I had fittings from another DI filter that didn't work. Standard RO system 1/4" tube fittings work. You want the fittings that are threaded on one side to fit a cartridge. You can insert a 1/4" bare tube, even one that you cut, and tighten. Then screw that into this cartridge. Update: After a year it was putting out 22 ppm (30 ppm in from RO). Next time maybe I'll replace after 6 months. Opening and refilling it was easy. Opening took some oomph, but I didn't need a tool. Due to all the 1 star reviews about breaking it, I didn't tighten it very much when reclosing. Only snug. I don't think this little force could ever break anything. Even so it is leak free. You may want a tool to open it, but when you close it please just do hand tight and don't muscle it. Or you might be the next 1 star reviewer who broke your filter.

Nick from the customer service department quickly responded to some questions and solved issues I was having with my system on the spot. The first reply I received was a direct solution. Not only him, but this is the second time I've contacted customer support at iSpring for a variety of issues and they've always been exceedingly pleasing. May the forces that be give the man a bonus, raise, because he made a lifelong customer outta me. Thanks for the wonderful customer experience. Now, on the system: it's main use was for drinking, cooking and miscellaneous cleaning around the house. However, I've caught a bug and now use it for all my fish tanks. It's perfect for aquarium use, grows great plants, and will filter my pH=8,dgH=0, dkH=14, TDS=300PPM water to 0ppm and undetectable level of Mg, Ca, and CaCO3. If aquarium is what you want, you've found your product.

Others said it has a fishy smell. Thats because these have a deionizing filter at the final stage. You want the other they sell that says alkaline filter at the final stage. People buy deionizing filters for fish tank water because it removes the ions and is best for that. You don't need that for drinking water, and the minerals will make that fishy smell in the process. You want an alkaline filter to raise the pH. The company will ship you the right filter because they have incredible customer service. You can also buy from them the correct set for a drinking ro that is final stage alkaline. Great company and great filters.

This item doesn't come with the instruction how to use it properly and what it should to use for. When I read on the description of this item on Amazon.com, it didn't say anything about how it is safe for drinking water. I have a RO tankless system, it only read 15PPM after installation. After installation with this DI (FD15) filter cartridge, it only read at 0PPM! It's taste fine, but I read on iSpring's website that stated it's NOT RECOMMENDED for drinking water! Nick, customer service sent me a different filter cartridge (model: FA15). Thank you Nick, for helping me out about the right filter.

Product works as advertised. Most purchasers don't realize the way these work, Do not use the water from this to wash the car, It is a waste. The purpose this is a Spot Free RINSE. If used to rinse washed areas before soap and water dries it works great. Washing the entire car/truck in the sun will not work. if you water is bad enough to leave terrible spots to start with, this product will not last and will be consumed fast removing everything from the bad water. It requires a pre treatment system, Not just a filter. As of this writing, about 260 Gal of RO water run through it so far and still maintains 0 TDS. My Process is below City Tap Water -> Sediment filter Sediment Filter -> Reverse Osmosis Water system (200 GPD) 200 GPD Reverse osmosis system -> Quantity 5 of Water Storage tanks Water Storage tanks -> Through 2 of these De-Ionization filters

Ispring customer service is awesome. They always have a live knowledge person to assist you. I installed this filter in addition to my ispring R.O. System. Lowered well water tds from 600+ down to 1.

The specifications list the dimensions as 10" × 2.5" × 2.5". The product I received the diameter is 2.5" at the cap and only 2.0" on the body. I purchased this one over others that come filled with color changing media because I thought it was 2.5" and would fit my existing clips. So not only is this more expensive than competing products I still have to purchase clips. If you already have the right sized clips it is probably decent value for the money. In my case having to buy new clips makes it cost way more than the alternatives. Edit: Finally got the clips and installed the filter. TDS zero on the output. When the valve on the output is closed water leaks from the connectors even with a couple wraps of PTFE tape. O-rings are need to prevent leakage if you have a valve on the output. You can see water working through the threads on the connectors on the clear housing. Edit: Two years on and the cap is starting to crack and leak around the water intake connector. Support tells me I have to buy a new filter as they don't sell parts. So overall this ends up cost me more than if I bought non-refillable filters. Lowered my rating to one-star. Between the poor seal around the connectors and lack of durability you probably do better buying some other product.

This is very very bad I couldn’t fix without leaks and even when attached it’s not fit well In the end I break it apart because the connections can’t be removed I will not buy this thing again

Why oh why do manufacturers not list their items properly? The unit comes with a "quick lock" connector already threaded into it, so you can only add the elbow and T-bends to it, I am dumbfounded why they did this and not provide the unit "naked" to which you can add your own connectors from an already plumbed system? If there is a way to remove the " Green" thread connector please enlighten me so I can remove it and connect it with the normal threaded version of RO connectors.

Tengo un equipo de filtración de 6 etapas y la lectura era de 179 ppm en el pre y en el post de 164 ppm, pero instale este sistema y la lectura actual es de 5 ppm, genial. Dentro de 6 meses actualizaré las mediciones. Muy recomendado
