Great southern ham. Wonderful on a asiago bagel!

Good taste, good packaging, includes cooking instructions and gravy recipes.

Want to clarify that even though the product says to heat to 160F, technically this meat was cured with enough salt to make sure that bacteria cold not live in that environment. It is called cold curing or some refer to it as “chemically curing.” It is no different than a prosciutto ham . It has never been cooked and not meant to be. Same with Spanish hams, and LOX (Cold cured unsmoked king salmon) which was packed in a saltwater brine to survive the long trip to market before we had reliable refrigeration. Therefor this product is naturally salty by design. I ate 3 oz (one pack immediately and loved it and I’m not worried about getting sick. If you do not like the salt content I suggest you buy a city ham, injected with liquid smoke but not dry cured. Both are excellent. I like both. But a true country ham has some history behind it and it is an acquired taste. Just like Italian and Spanish dry cured hams as well as real Jewish LOX, which are not smoked but can still run 35 bucks a lbs. the 3 oz packaging was nice but your still paying 20 a lb for this ham, close to a prosciutto at a deli. To me it was worth it and I will buy it again. But first timers? Understand what your buying before bashing the product.

Just the right amount of salty, this stuff is soooooo good. Love it and will order again.

More value for the money.

I'm from NC but have been gone for almost 30 years. There are So many things I miss that I can't get but I can get my country ham so I treat myself once in a while. This is as good as it gets folks. To those that don't what country ham is....it's salty. You can rinse it good to get some of the salt out. If this isn't your cup of tea, you need to buy plain old ham at the grocery store.

Good stuff. Somewhat less salty than an alternative on Amazon, although that one's good too. Great flavor. Will buy more (and have!).

I was so hopeful when I ordered this country ham. Being on the west coast you can’t find it. I've literally ordered some from Virginia and waited days for it to arrive. So seeing this in individual packages and with 24 hour shipping I was thrilled. I even planned an entire “breakfast for dinner “ menu to celebrate . First of all a few of the packages look suspicious with a slimy product inside. Second the two packs I did try were so tough and hard I couldn’t even bite into them. I tried soaking them for about an hour, that didn’t work. I tried sautéing each individual piece…that just made them worse. My dogs were begging for a bite…even they didn’t like it. I’m very disappointed and am now having “breakfast for dinner “ with store bought sliced ham. Not what we were looking forward to AT ALL!(PS in fairness I tried to contact the seller but I couldn’t find a way to do so. But being non returnable for obvious reasons it probably wouldn’t have mattered)
