I've used redX for years in both petrol and diesel engines. It really is a great product and very easy to use. It works best if you add it to the fuel tank just before topping up fuel so it mixes well, otherwise it may take a while to find it's way through the fuel and combustion system. Just open the fuel cap and stick the bottle in and let it drain down to the next marker. Some modern cars have funny anti siphoning systems and may not allow you to add it this way. So you may have to mix it in a gerry can with fuel then pour it in. Omce in just drive your car or let the engine run. Make sure your engine gets warmed up and runs at operational temps for a while. Driving around town or going to the next one is a good idea. This stuff will clean out the fuel system and sensors alomg the way as you drive so it can take a little time. I used to add this at the end of summer and in spring as a maintenance thing, but i've also used it when the engine light came on and it restricted speed. If it the issue comes back take your vehicle to a mechanic as its probably something more serious. This is good value and keeps the car going longer amd more efficiently. Its saved us the odd trip to the garge over the years to.

I use this throughout the year in my old car. It's very effective. Before each M.O.T. I double dose and take the car for an 'Italian Tune' and it definitely reduces the emissions. The one year I didn't use it and do the motorway run before the M.O.T. it failed. Once in 13 years. So make what you will of that. Glad I could find it in a 4 shot bottle here on Amazon. My regular supermarket only does it in 2 shot, and then they don't always have it on offer. So this is a good option and price too.

My Toyota diesel was acting like it was missing and it would stumble and buck going down the highway. I replaced the fuel filter twice with no improvement. I searched the blogs for my symptoms and they all said to use this this stuff. Fill a new fuel filter with this stuff and start the engine. In less than 5 minutes the engine made less noise and very little smoke whereas before the smoke was very noticeable. The power is up about 50%! I could not believe it. The engine runs like a sewing machine going down the road. Buy it and use it!

I’ve been using this product on my Land Rover Discovery 3 and have seen modest but noticeable benefits. The vehicle feels smoother when pulling away, and there appears to be a slight improvement in fuel economy. Results aren’t dramatic, but given the low cost and ease of use, it offers good value as part of routine maintenance. Only downside is the smell / pour, I haven't managed yet to not drop a bit on my hand when pouring.

Does it's job

Fact is that it would be almost impossible to know if this actually works unless you had a laboratory at your disposal. Certainly in my day to day driving I can't tell if this makes any difference. However, both my wife and I have diesels - me, a 4x4 pickup and she has a Jeep. Neither get huge daily mileages on them and in particular my wife tends to do short journeys. As a marine engineer I'm particularly conversant with fuels and engines give a small difference in economy or use on a ship can amount to literally millions extra per year. And I know in the marine industry nothing has ever made any difference to fuel economy apart from good initial design and using the engine to its most effective efficient level. And that's at high load - around 85% - and continuously. Under those conditions it's generally the case injectors are fine for years. Cars however don't work that way and it's a fact that short hops with low load will cake injectors over time. The solution is of course to regularly go for a decent drive and give the car some beans. That's not going to work with the local rozzers of course if they catch you but it does help the engine. Back in the land of normal driving that's not possible and thus I chuck some of this in hoping it helps. And that may be black magic because I've read nothing that says it makes any difference one way or another. What I can say is that over the last year my wife and I have noticed no reduction of engine running condition or performance. So maybe it does help. Bottom line I chuck a bit of this in now and again and fingers crossed it makes a difference.
