Magical Tales Take-Along Mobile

Best bit of kit, entertains baby quietly for ages! ***Summary:*** My baby absolutely loves this mobile! When we got it he was 4 weeks old and although he had started smiling, he didn't smile at very much. First time he saw this mobile he was grinning constantly, and he continues to do so (and now, at 12 weeks, to laugh) every time he glimpses it, let alone when it's actually on. He sits and watches/listens to this happily whilst I shower in the mornings, and we attach it to the cot hood for outings to restaurants etc. too: it keeps him occupied for absolutely ages. In fact, he's always a bit cross to be taken away from it! ***Pros:*** - Black and white patterns under the 'leaves' means it's useful right from birth - Lullabies are varied but calming - Can be used on silent mode (we use the lullabies as part of the bedtime routine whilst he's across the room so can't see the mobile, then switch off the music so it's on silent mode when he goes to bed for low-stimulation interest, and also use both modes together when he needs entertaining). - Clamp is very secure and fits pretty much any edge (if not incredibly thin). We use it on the handle of the Snuzpod. Anyone failing at this is simply doing it wrong: use the correct part of the clamp, make sure the centre of gravity is over the clamp when you tighten it, don't fasten it onto anything loose, like fabric over wood etc, and (obviously) check it regularly. - Characters are very cute with lots of interesting details that keep baby intrigued - Swivels easily and silently out of the way for when you want to pick up baby or if it's in line of sight for your video monitor/you - Not too long and dangly so stays up and away from waving arms - Transportable - the top unit often goes with us for when we want to either entertain or soothe him. ***Cons (only nitpicking, it's still 5-star)*** - The transition from the first tune into the second isn't the greatest: there's a short silence and then the second tune starts on a high note which seems loud and can cause a moro reflex. I put a piece of cellotape over the speaker and it now makes a much softer sound, as well as being more muted. This solved the issue completely, and I just peel it back as much or as little as I want depending on the ambient noise level/distance we are from the cot. It's not noticeable to look at as it's on the back side of the motor section. - The little characters on mine face backwards as the mobile turns - so you see their faces as they go away from the baby rather than towards. This is maybe by design (maybe it was deemed scary the other way around [?]) or maybe just pot luck when it was sewn, but my preference would have been to see the animals' faces come towards baby. Baby doesn't care at all, of course! - The silent mode switch setting is after the music setting. I wish it was the other way around, because to get to silent you have to pass music, which often results in a single chime escaping. Annoying if you just want to pop the movement on for some low-stimulation/soothing entertainment and it's the dead of night. - A continuous mode would have been useful so I could stick it on silent but continuous, so that baby can watch it if he wakes up without me having to manually switch it on. BUY IT

UPDATE: Received a reply from the manufacturers after a couple of weeks. After a bit of convo and video of proof, they sent me a new one, free of cost. I’m so happy, thank you so much! So sweet of them to send me a new one that’s silent and works! My baby thanks you! 💖 Was amazing to have in the beginning, the music is soft, the silent mode is truly silent and the baby loved watching the animals rotate. It’s bright and looks great on the crib. We even used it on his pram and the mobile worked great for keeping baby happy and distracted. But once we attached it back on the crib, the motor in the mobile started making a grinding churning sound. We’ve only had it a month and the baby loves it, we love the size and portableness of it, it’s safe enough to use too but the churning sound is very irritating, considering it was so silent to begin with. I sent an email to the manufacturers but no replies, which is not a good look on them! Such a shame because my baby NEEDS to have his time playing with the mobile and he gets so happy and excited when we turn it on!

Great product. Fixed to our moses basket perfectly with the arm supplied. This means we can move the mobile out of the way when moving baby in and out of the basket. We can also unclip the mobile from the arm and attach to the pram, travel cot, etc. Clips and arm are sturdy. Nice and compact. The characters are cute and colourful. I particularly like the black and white patterns above the characters... Great for newborns. My baby absolutely loves watching it. There are various tunes - some happy and some that are a bit elevator music/funeral parlour, but the volume is not too loud and doesn't bother us when watching TV. You can't turn the volume up or down, but you can have the mobile spinning without the music. I like that it turns itself off after 30 minutes - baby is usually fast asleep or almost asleep by then. I can't comment on battery life, but its been on many times a day for about 2 weeks and the batteries (duracell) are still going strong. Overall, the product surpassed my expectations and I would definitely recommend it. Edit: I've noticed some reviews say that the mobile arm slips and falls onto baby. I have this attached to our fabric and wicker moses basket and when setting it up, it did slip into the basket (minus baby!), so we've done it up very tightly. Even with moving the mobile back and forth to get baby in and out, it has stayed stable. Also, the clip is a bit clunky to get on the arm, but once it's clipped on correctly, it's fine.

I like this product. Its good quality. It plays different melodies not to loud on my opinion. Its spinning. You have option to spinning only. I wish there is option music only as well. Not too big but also not too smal. Its nice to have something that you just turn on with button instead of rolls up to play. I have tutti bambini crib/cot and it attached perfectly. Only bad thing is price... I think its expensive. So 4 stars.

We bought this for our baby boy when he was around 2 months old. He is now 5 months and still loves it! It is a lovely, bright toy with several nice songs. The sound quality is good and it turns nicely. You can hear a slight motion noise when it turns but that has not bothered us or our baby. It fits well to the side of the cot and can be easily moved to other items/places if needed. It is also ideal for travel or popping onto a car seat or similar, as the actual mobile part comes off the plastic arm, making it smaller and easy to take with you. Our son has found it very entertaining and loves to stare at it while he’s in his cot. He often giggles at the animals too. Would highly recommend.

Good toy for the babies to keep them busy in their crib or cart while music is not that great but otherwise value for money as the hanging rotate well.

My son absolutely loves this, keeps him entertained for hours and eventually he will fall asleep. It turns off by itself after 20 or 30 minutes so don’t think the batteries died when they didn’t you’ll just have to switch it off and back on again if you want it to play longer
