I added this to my WS1, put the WS1 in a watertight Pelican case, mounted as sensor externally, let it float on my pool and I have a wifi remote water temperature sensor! Well under 100$ total!

I deployed a test WS1 unit with this attachment and am VERY pleased!!! It is a must add-on accessory if the function is needed.

Despite using a USB plug, it does not use the USB protocol. Do not use this unless you have the product that this is supposed to come with. While the temp probe is supposed to be quite accurate, the probe itself is not expensive, and this is significantly more expensive than other DS18B20 probes. Find a different one, as you will likely have to cut off the port anyways. The highest quality part of this is the flat wire. Unless you need that, just use a cheaper version of this that already comes with useful ends.

The cable thickness allows air leakage when used in a standard household freezer with mag gasket. A thinner ( or flatter ) cable would reduce the issue. Still experimenting to find a cure for the air leak.

The Ubibot unit is brilliant, sadly the USB connection to external probe isn't. 1st one broke not long after arriving, 2nd one already show signs of breaking. Disappointing as the rest is great

Easy hookup and seams to work well.

We use this to monitor the temperature of our standup freezer since we had 2 of them blow the compressor after the door was left open. Keeps accurate temperature.
