The packaging doesn't say anything about the rice being non-gmo, but says it is the original Enriched Parboiled Long Grain Rice. It has a number to call with questions or comments, 1-800-548-6253. It’s not your typical white rice. It cooks up firmer and has a tastier flavor. It’s parboiled and my nutritionist recommended it years ago. Not as hearty as brown rice it’s a cross between and parboiled rather than polished.

What is the shelf life of this rice?

As far as I know, white rice can last years if in an air-tight container and kept at room temperature. Brown rice lasts a considerably shorter time.

Is this brown converted rice?

No it’s not the brown rice. There is a Converted Brown Rice by Uncle Ben’s but this is not it.
