This book covers all the basics, and I have been painting for many years, but had taken a long break I recommend this highly

Except my expectation

Well written and easy read.

Good beginner book. Order of page coverage high to low: water, acrylic, oil.

But did not see an paragraph on how and what to mix oil paints up with in order to paint on a canvas.

I bought this for my 12 year old grand daughter because she likes to paint and is pretty good. After looking through it, I thinking I need this book.

not good for a beginner

The paintings in the book are not my style, but it has a lot of information on all three styles of painting which I do find very interesting. I have not had a chance to read the whole book yet though, but definitely I want to try my hand with the water color techniques.
