I picked up the Fantastic Mr. Fox Blu-ray thinking it would just be a fun family movie night. Instead, it’s turned into one of those rare movies that survives both my five boys and my high school video production classes—which, honestly, says everything. At home: My five boys' attention spans range from reading-their-Kindle to constantly-rolling-off-the-couch, and this movie has handled the whole spectrum. The stop-motion looks amazing, the quick dialogue keeps them interested, and the whole thing is just… charming. It’s become one of our family favorites. In my classroom: This movie has quickly become one of my best teaching tools. With my Video Production students, it does an incredible job of highlighting the basics without overwhelming them: Camera shots – clear examples of wide, medium, close-ups, and those super intentional push-ins Wes Anderson loves. Camera movement – smooth pans and tilts that are easy for beginners to spot. Composition – honestly, it’s a masterclass. Rule of thirds, symmetry, depth - my students actually see what we’ve been talking about. Lighting – every scene has a controlled, warm look that helps students notice how lighting shapes mood. Audio – clean dialogue, textured Foley, and a soundtrack that adds personality without drowning the scene. The best part? Because everything is handmade and deliberate, students don’t get lost in CGI or fast-cut editing. They can slow down, point things out, and actually explain why the shot works. As a Blu-ray: The picture quality is noticeably sharper than the streaming version we used before. The textures—fur, fabric, tiny props—look incredible. At home on our LG OLED TV, the picture is unbelievable. I think we’ve all gotten a little too used to what a compressed stream looks like, because the Blu-ray honestly feels like someone cleaned my glasses for me. The colors pop harder, the details are crisper, and those warm Wes Anderson tones finally look the way they’re supposed to. It’s one of those “ohhh… this is what it’s meant to look like” moments. Anything I’d change? Honestly, nothing. It does exactly what I need it to do. Who this is great for: Parents who want a genuinely fun movie that doesn’t make you want to hide behind your phone. Teachers who want an accessible, visually rich film to teach the basics of camera work and composition. Anyone who loves stop-motion or clever storytelling. Final Thoughts: This movie has earned a spot on both my home movie shelf and in my classroom toolkit. If you’re a parent, an educator, or just someone who appreciates good filmmaking, this is absolutely worth owning.

I would highly recommend this movie for those over the age of 12 as those under it may get bored as there isn't much in terms of typical action. However its a very enjoyable ride and the bluray quality is as amazing as ever! I love that these things include digital, makes it a very good buy as you also can have it on your phone when a bluray player isn't on hand. Arrived in good condition, all in all 10/10
