You and Me and the Wishing Tree

Love these books! They are sturdy, but more importantly, they have good stories with great rhythm. Perfect for soothing littles with positive words!

Absolutely LOVE this book. We are big Tillman fans in this house (we have 6 or 7 of her books so far) and this one was not a let down at all. In fact, it jumped nearly to the top of my list. Illustrations are perfect, as always, and the plot was adorable, too: Mom and child wake up to find a "wishing tree" in the front yard, so the child wastes no time making wishes. Each page shows what the 2 (and their dog) do during the day based on child's wishes, until it is night and the child gets tired, then the sweetness comes in. "So I did what parents do - I picked you up and carried you." Mom returns child to bed and just before he falls asleep, he asks what wish mom made, to which she replies that her only wish was to be with him. Almost makes me cry each time I read it. LOVED IT!!!

When I want to give a beautiful keepsake gift, I look for this author. The message is heartfelt and the illustrations are lovely. A magical bedtime story to ensure sweet dreams.

This is our second Nancy Tillman book, and won't be our last. My children were gifted their first as a Christmas gift a few years ago, and it is still a favorite. You and Me and the Wishing Tree was a gift for our daughter (3) from the Easter Bunny. She was enchanted immediately by the beautiful cover, and we weren't disappointed a bit once we sat down and read. It's now in the rotation for bed time stories and is loved by both my daughter and her 4 year old brother. Great illustration and lovely stories. These will be books you will save for your grandchildren etc. Definetly worth every penny!

Bought this to go with a baby shower gift for a baby girl who was arriving after a long journey trying to conceive. Paired it with a Unicorn baby toy plush with sensory tag-type things, a unicorn rattle from the store with the red bullseye logo. Added a pink fluffy throw and a few adorable outfits and tied them all together with a ribbon in a stack. It was so adorable. I love this author and the illustrations in her books as they are so vivid and they portray and ignite such imagination... I did want to hear the "flow" of the book though so I looked up videos online to make sure it would be completely appropriate. As with most Nancy Tillman books, I cried - that's when I know how amazing they are. I started collecting several of them for my daughters when they were little but she has put out many more since then. After reading and purchasing this one, I will definitely plan to buy three more copies - one for each of my daughters. They are now 12, 10 and 8. To be honest, I haven't been able to read most of her books aloud to then because I find them so moving and so meaningful, I start choking up and bawling. Lol

Great author, beautiful book

I just love every single Nancy Tillman book. From the sweet and beautiful words to the mesmerizing illustrations, you can’t go wrong. But this one was especially sweet and definitely one of my very favorites. Yet another book that she knocked out of the park.

I love every book by this author. The writing and illustrations take you to a magical place. My daughter is 7 and we've been reading these books since she was a baby, still her favorite!

I bought it to add to our collection of Tillman's book series and it is my 2 year old daughters favorite book. She can recite the whole book and loves it dearly. By far the best book series to buy for your kids, we currently have 6 of her books but will be adding more at Christmas time.
