Wella Eimi is a hair care, styling, and color merchandising company that has been around since 1882. Wella Eimi is a German word that means "Beautiful day." They have a wide range of hair care products including shampoos, conditioners, hair color, hair styling, and treatments for hair loss. The company has an interesting history of co-founders; August Heinrich Wella and his wife Anna Marie. Anna Marie was the daughter of Baron Ulrich von Brockdorff. A German baron who was an inventor who came up with the first permanent wave machine for wavy hair. His invention changed the world of beauty forever. August Heinrich Wella was an artist. He had studied painting in Munich and later became the head painter at the royal court of Bavaria. They married in 1881 and decided to start their own business together. The first shop they opened was called "Wella & Co." They were able to use their artistic background to create new beauty products including hair dyes, permanent waves, creams, etc. They also developed a unique brush style called the "Wella Pointed Brush" which became their trademark product amongst beauty shops across Europe. Wella Eimi has continued to grow since 1882 with 100+ different salon brands. Their current headquarters are in Frankfurt am Main, Germany where they have more than 2,000 employees on staff for their global reach.
